In Car Phone Kits (The Law)
Back Driving while using your mobile phone was made illegal on December 1st 2003! The offence will apply to drivers speaking or listening to a phone call, operating the phone to access any form of data, including sending or reading text messages, pictures and accessing the internet, if the phone is held in the drivers hand during or at least in part of its operation. Offenders can face a fixed penalty fine of 3 points and £60 fine, or a fine on conviction of up to £1000, (£2,500 for drivers of goods vehicles or those manufactured or adapted to carry 9 or more passengers).
